HAMPTONS KITCHEN TRANSFORMATION

After living with a gloomy 1970’s kitchen for too long, it was time for a chic Hamptons kitchen transformation. Our clients approached the team at Brilliant SA to create a modern “Hamptons-style-meets-country-chic” kitchen to enhance their Californian bungalow. The space was in need of a major overhaul in order to take pride of place within the open plan living area.

Perhaps the most important requirement was ensuring the new kitchen provided thoughtful storage solutions and increased work-spaces. Due to careful placement of key work zones throughout the kitchen this has been achieved.  By squaring off and bringing the benchtop out further it increases the grandeur of the kitchen and increased under bench storage. Consequently it also makes for a highly interactive area which has become the social point of the home for family and friends.

A traditional mantel above the cooker includes display cupboards with under-cabinet lighting. A clever selection of appliances and inclusions suit the colonial hamptons styling intended. While a subway tile splashback coupled with the beautiful moulding throughout the space complete the look. All of these details considered to be subtle nods to the original era in which the home was built. The buffet unit perfectly integrates the kitchen with the living/dining rooms and makes the whole space a visual pleasure.

Finally, new flooring throughout is the final touch to complement the white gloss joinery. With new windows, and doors leading out to the beautifully-manicured gardens, the owners now enjoy every moment spent in this stunning, light-filled space.
