This portfolio showcases complementary renovation of 2 bathrooms: Main bathroom and 2nd bathroom with integrated laundry facilities
A modern contemporary bathroom that meets the needs of a family of four, now, and for many years to come. A fairly straightforward brief, with a strong focus on optimising storage, space and functionality within the small bathroom. Previously updated in the 1980s, this bathroom was sorely in need of a re-design!
Aiming to include a separate shower, bath, double vanity and toilet, the challenge was to create a bathroom that was minimalistic and modern contemporary.
A clever idea has made the most of every centimetre available in this bathroom. By creating a false-framed wall to house the toilet’s in-wall cistern, it was also possible to include a large bath niche. Sitting above the large freestanding bath the niche provides much needed storage. Another niche in the walk-in shower, provides further additional storage for everyday items. Square-look accessories and tapware enhance the modern look of the bathroom. However, while the wall-hung, double-bowl vanity provides the impression of an elongated space it most importantly provides extensive storage.
A new frosted window provides significant natural light into the room, highlighting the contrast of the tiles. The tiles were laid horizontally and taken to the ceiling to increase perception and add a sense of proportion. Our designer wanted a calm, relaxing ambiance with enough space to incorporate all the items on the owners’ wish list. The new layout and expert choice in products and materials means the bathroom is just that!
